I got $60 for the old one off the van. I’m sure a lot of you knew this but I had never traded one in before. (the only other one I replaced was empty) i just handed it to the guy, he handed me a slip, I went to their ATM, scanned the slip and the machine spit the money out. it was that easy.

Easy, huh?

That’s why people are stealing these. I also have turned in the ones I have replaced, if they are original, from the factory, they’ll be more, if it is a replacement it’s worth about $3-5. I saved mine from my 93XJ and my equinox. The equinox one was OEM.

I sold a completely trashed one on eBay like ten years ago for almost $100. I’ve sold them locally since. It’s the best way to offset the cost of a new one.

I found a bolt on replacement for my 240 on Amazon warehouse for around $40 then sold the blown  out original for  $30.

When I installed long tube headers and an off-road exhaust on my Z28 10 years or so ago, a local guy gave me $160 for the factory cats. I was tickled pink. That was like half of what the exhaust cost.
